Our relationship with the play spaces at The Rainz, stretches from indoor to outdoor, and this involves multiple play facilities to accommodate cooperative play among the different groups of children. The final physical design served its purpose, with an odyssey of swings, a multi-spinner carousel, a Corocord rope pyramid, spinners, and balancing stones- the play sequence and free space were optimal for social interaction and safety.

Complete indoor to outdoor play experiences
Set in the affluent suburbs of Bukit Jalil, The Rainz is a boutique condominium in Kuala Lumpur designed to be different. Conceived to bring on resort living experience, right in the city, the project provides ample nature and outdoor spaces, including forest trails, waterplay, the maze garden, rainz scented garden, trampoline park, herb garden, eco pond and camping zone.
To this end, we were commissioned to design a myriad of play areas to match the multiple themed landscapes. Each space is specially curated to cater to the diversity of the colony and provide countless possibilities for exploration and play for children at different levels of development.

A design that is as curious as it is inviting, a Skywalk play bridge was also one of the highlights of the play spaces unique to The Rainz. The play bridge adds a sartorial appeal to the façade and experience for the residents of The Rainz, opening the horizon for the young at heart and young alike. The stainless steel wire netting coupled with sturdy Corocord rope tactfully accent the trail area and the view, it helps one to forget that you are suspended so high in the sky.

For the dry area, the children’s dedicated play area has a twisting yellow slide standing atop a terraced green hill designed with EDPM flooring. The play area was elevated to create a mini hill, to encourage the young explorers to climb and scramble all over the structure. By creating engaging tactile play in this manner, children of all ages can also train their physical and cognitive development.

To start, no one can miss the luxurious swimming pool, an ocean blue splashpad with bright yellow rings circling the colourful waterplay equipment. From above, colourful aqua towers gently sprinkle water onto the grounds below. Jets of water form an interactive fountain in the middle of the splash pad, providing an aquatic spectacle for viewers and added fun for the playground goers.

Three yellow rings, also known as the Aquabrow Trio give our children a sensory play experience where they can run through the three yellow rings and receive a full 360 soaking experience! Nearby, a short yellow slide ejects young toddlers wandering in the shallow pool, providing a safe and fun water play experience.
