How do you turn a burger into a playground? 🍔

That was the brief for @burgerkingsg at Changi Airport Terminal 2 — and the answer came from taking the ingredients apart, one by one.

A Burger-Inspired Play Experience

A lettuce leaf became a climbing ridge. A tomato became a tunnel to crawl through. Golden fries became the fence line, and the floor beneath it all was hand-painted with tomato slices, sesame seeds and flame-grilled patties — a whole burger, deconstructed and scattered underfoot for little feet to hop between. It’s a reminder of what our designers do best: take something familiar, look at it sideways, and find the play hiding inside it. Every curve, colour and cut-out here was drawn from scratch — no catalogue, no template.

Scooter

Complementing the main play feature is a rocking scooter that encourages imaginative role play and active movement, allowing children to create their own adventures while developing balance and coordination.

Interactive Play

The fun extends beyond the play equipment with a fully customised, hand-painted safety surface. Designed as an interactive jumping game, the flooring features colourful vegetable graphics—including tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and leafy greens—that encourage children to hop, jump, and invent their own games as they move through the space.

The result is a space that does more than entertain. It gives families a reason to linger, turns a transit stop into a memory, and proves that a strong story can transform even the busiest commercial space into somewhere children genuinely want to be.
