Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS) launched Singapore Good Design (SG Mark) in 2013 in partnership with the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) that founded the prestigious Good Mark. SG Mark was established to set the benchmark for exceptional design quality that impacts businesses and communities in Singapore and beyond. Good design has become a source of growth and productivity in the economy as organisations recognise the value of investing in excellent design principles, processes and offerings.

Established in 1981, Taiwan's Golden Pin Design Award is the most influential design award in the global Huaren market. The planning and handling of the awards, the prize-giving ceremony, and all other related events are executed by Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI). The Golden Pin Design Award recognizes commercial products and projects entered by design teams and industry professionals. Each year, through a rigorous and impartial judging process led by industry experts, over one hundred products and projects are selected to receive the coveted Design Mark certificate in recognition of outstanding design. A small selection of the Design Mark recipients are then chosen to receive the Best Design trophy. The Golden Pin Design Award certificate and trophy is an influential signifier of quality in design.
