We are happy to report that our spider in SkyOasis@Dawson has been warmly received by children and families in the area and that some has even adopted it as a play time companion. Thank you @zaobaosg for featuring this project and thank you to Lysha for your endorsement. It is incredibly heartwarming to see children appreciate the uniqueness of the playground and finding joy and challenges in every interaction. Read more about the experiences of other residents who enjoy our spider playground in the article.

For many people, the playground downstairs their apartment building is seeped with childhood memories. HDBs with themed playgrounds had makeovers to augment the children’s enjoyment and receive a positive reception from residents. According to our sources, there are currently over 10 themed playgrounds across the island, located in districts such as Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Panjang, Dawson and Clementi.

In Queenstown’s SkyOasis @ Dawson, the construction of an iconic giant spider slide and a climbing facility with suspension bridges has been completed this January. Li Jian Zhi, a 31-year-old salesman and Dawson resident, always take his two-year-old daughter to play here. During the interview, he comments that the facility is neither simple nor complicated, and very spacious, which makes a great outlet for adventurous children. “This district has many playgrounds, but this one is particularly interesting to my daughter. Even though it has its challenges, we think that it is what makes it good.”

Li Jian Zhi says the playground before were very similar looking. His daughter would generalize them and refer to them interchangeably as “playgrounds”, but now she would ask him to take her to the “big spider” playground, and he knows exactly what she means. He wishes that there will be more playgrounds like this in other areas in the future.
